Default General question about 98 ITR that no one has been able to answer yet...

I have been trying to find information comparing the JDM ITRs to the USDM ITRs... I am aware that the JDM models have a few more "sporty" interior parts (more CF, Recaros, Momo steering wheel), and the JDM front end, as well as a higher compression motor with 5 more horses. However, I have been unable to find anything about the suspension. Is it identical to the USDM cars? Just curious, becuase it seems as if everything JDM has something that is slightly better. CV shafts bigger, maybe? Better shocks and springs? Better LSD? Anything, guys? I know this question is out of nowhere, but the curiosity was killing me.

JDM has larger axle joints (36mm), larger front & rear sway bars (25mm & 23mm) and different rear upper link (tubular)...

i have heard that the spring rates are slightly different but have not been able to confirmed that

JASMA makes any and all high end parts for our cars. If it says JASMA on it somewhere its worth crazy $$$$. Its just really rare, and really expensive.

Back to topic, though, seriously, are the springs/shocks or anything else different performance-wise from the USDM cars?

Being that the swaybars are different, I wouldn't be at all surprised if the springs and dampers were as well. Also, the JDM R is lighter, and that may have allowed them to fit stiffer springs as well.

Say what?
Because they where lighter they where allowed stiffer springs? Please elaborate.

Just to throw this out, the idea of the Tein suspension on the ITRs isn't that far fetched. Didn't the Type Rx come with aftermarket style suspension? I thought it was tein? Or maybe just KYB...? I dunno. There was a dude on here a few weeks ago that had a couple of imported Rx's, and remember they had different suspension? Maybe I was drunk. LOL.

I don't think those were coilovers, but I do believe they are adjustable. They only came on the Rx's as an option I believe?

All stock DC2 spring/damper sets are coilovers.

the suspension HAS to be different, or it'd be the most unbalanced car in the universe.

RHD suspension on LHD car = drive like ****
