Posted this question on s2ki but only got a few vague answers. I figured i'd come here to ask about it.
So far all that seems to be feasible are piggybacks (emanage, aem f/ic) and even those I haven't gotten clear answers/testimonials on if and how well they work. As of now, Hondata only offers a reflash for the 06+... no s2000 k-pro.
Anyone have any experience with these cars? I know i've seen/heard of 06+ si's on boost and I don't recall them using FMUs or anything but I don't know what solution they did use.

Drive by wire is what changes things so drastically with the 06-07's. Hondata does have the K-Pro available for the 00-05's however. Sooner or later I'm sure there will be more support for this platform as well as the 06+ Si's.

yeah i know the DBW is pretty much causing the complication. I guess ill be patient. I just decided to retire my new S from being my DD so I'm getting a lot of ideas in my head for the future hehe

Only option I have thought of so far is "downgrading" the ECU to a KPro config w/ a harness re-pin and what not, and add a manual throttlebody and accelerator assembly.
You really have no "plug and play" options at this point. Later next year a new standalone option should be available for that car. That's some time away though

whats involved with downgrading to a pre-06 ECU configuratioon, besides the things hybridkoop listed?
Sucks when u have to wait for things to be developed.

That seems like a legitimate solution...excpet we would use the AEM EMS instead of the KPro to keep things simple

I'm on TSXclub.com and there is a member there that is going the route of the aem fic and a boomslang harness. He has a supercharger and hes planning on upping the boost.
Since all of honda/acura dbw should have similar wiring this solution could probably work for you.

yeah i was doing some reading on aem's site about adapting the fic to the 06+ . boomslang also sells an emanage ultimate harness. i guess ill just have to look into piggybacks if i want anything anytime soon.

The AEM F/IC works well, but it's too limited in tuning options. I still take the E-manage Ultimate over the F/IC.
For me to consider a tune being good, it has to be tuned with proper water temp and air temp correction (both fuel and timing) as well as individual cylinder ignition and fuel tuning.
Only the E-manage Ultimate offers that as far as popular piggybacks go.

Curious, does anything like Motec or FAST have compatible solutions for this? I would expect that the DBW would cause them to have issues as well, nor am I sure if they even have anything for the tunable S2000s.
no no noooooo
i forget the dude's sn....he has a laguna blue s2k on s2ki......had work meister s2r wheels too.....not the s1's
anyway, its an ap2, 06, dbw.....get this....with AEM standalone. used in conjunction with the oem ecu...but whatever...it works he had someone from a reputable shop fab up a harness and what not to make it work.....talk to him about it. . . . let me see if i can find the post. . .

lol i just found that out today or was it yesterday too.
a guy buy the name of mike at a shop called autowave or something makes an adapter harness to fit the RSX aem ems. the only catch is u lose functionality of the cruise control, vsa, and your CEL stays on. not a big deal though as it doesn't require any other changes from what i read. and if u ever have to go back to stock all those functions return to normal.

I believe that the Motec M400/600/800 systems can all do drive-by-wire.
