All Motor / Naturally Aspirated No power adders

Will a obd1 jdm d15b be a direct replace motor for a 96-98 ek ex?

Default Will a obd1 jdm d15b be a direct replace motor for a 96-98 ek ex?

here the run down, motor blew up in a 97ex civic. will a JDM obd1 d15b be compatible wit everything on the civic and will it run right with the obd2 ex ecu. give me the head ups. (can i just bare the JDM d15b longblocl and add on everything from the obd2a d16y8 parts on there like distributor, injectors, ect...)

there are many different D15b's in japan. It depends on which one you get.

the 2-stage VTEC model is OBD2a
OBD1 versions include 130HP single VTEC model, the VTEC-E model (think VX), and the non-VTEC model

your D16 ECU will push in more fuel than the D15 requires.

Cali would never pass you on emissions with an older engine than the car.

IMO, simply search for a 97+ Y8, they're out there pretty cheap.
