Maybe with A's youll have reliability. B's or C's not so much, and they wont make any power with the stock ECU since it wont allow them to rev high enough to get into the meet of those cams powerbands.

I think as long as you keep the stock rev limit, then it is OK. But I wouldn't run it for a extended period of time!!

Whats wrong with running on the stock ecu for an extended period time? Just a serious question cause i'm running on stock ecu. Or are you referring to stock valvetrain and stuff?

You can run Spec A's and camgears while leaving everythng else stock INCLUDING the redline. You won't get much power if you don't tune though, you could actually lose power.

Nothing wrong with running stock ECU and Spec B, what I meant is that I wouldn't run stock valvetrain with spec B for extended period of time!!

Please be careful with the sensationalism.

He'll be fine running Spec B's with stock valvetrain as long as he's not going over 9100 rpm or so. Even then I wouldn't want to run up to 9000 all that often on stock valvetrain.

If you want to do it right ... get the valve spring as well. These cams are recommended to use with Toda valvetrain upgrade.

Sorry, it was my understanding that you shouldn't run anything above spec B's unless you've also changed the springs, retainers, etc....

Toda recommends springs and retainers....
And if one owns the money to get a set of cams he`s got the bucks for valvetrain also...
I would never risk the stock valvetrain and get the head fawked up

For Toda A's like I have, you don't need valvetrain. Very reliable and I am making a lot off power specially low end. You just have to tune the car.

Yes.

1 year, 7k miles on Toda B's, cam gears, V-AFC, stock valvetrain, JDM 4-1, 2.5" cat, stock b-pipe + can.

Did I make more power than stock? Yes. 18-20whp delta in midrange.

Did I make the most power? No. Peak numbers are for pansies.

Stay out of the rev limiter, and you will be fine. Put the cams in now, add the goodies later, if you are budget-minded like me.

Dont waste your money the Toda Valvetrain is identical to Type R outers and Portflow inners half the price, The only Toda cam worth running is the A's the C'S are JUNK.
