I have a 1992 acura motor and a 1989 zc motor and tranny. The b-18 will not fit in my 89 civic hatch with the Ls tranny on it. I was told that i can buy a kit that fits between the motor and the tranny so that i can bolt the zc to the b-18. Any suggestions?

You need a B series tranny for a B series motor.

What year is the ls tranny you have? Why exactly is it not fitting?

 

Also, if you are looking to avoid buying a B-series mount kit, then keep in mind that a D-series adaptor is (1) probably not available, and (2) if it WAS, it would place the engine too far to the driver's side of the engine bay to fit.

 

well i started to put the b-18 in and the driver side motor mount would not fit. Then iwas looking at the cv axles and the civics are to short to fit. The b18 tranny is a 92 and the zc is 89

 

you CANNOT us a b18 with a zc. you need a b18 with a B series transmission, zc is D series. also you need after market mounts and integra axles, if your car is a standard u need dx or si front wheel spindals, also if your car is NOT mpfi u will need to convert from the DPFI TO MPFI. you have alot of **** to take care of before throwing in a b18.

 

my civic is not standard it has the si front spindals and i have my integra axles but they dont look like they would work what is mpfi?

 

mpfi is a standard intake manifold with 4 injectors not 2 this HAS to be done if you are going to rock a b18 what model is the civic dx si std...... also are you trying to use a b18 transmission on a zc or a zc transmission on a b18..... either way you are going to have to get the same of one of those exp. zc engine and trans or b18 engine and trans. cannot be a mixture, just read up man there is so many threads for this kind of stuff.

 

i went ontside to look and all i see is pgm-fi. the car is a si.and what i was trying to do is put the zc tranny on the b18 hoping then the cv axles would work cause i was told they make a conversion kit to put the zc tranny to the b18.

 

they might make the kit but i bet u will never find it or be able to afford it just buy a b18 transmission and good if its si then u dont need to convert to mpfi all u need is the right mounts shift linkage the right integra axles and a integra ecu then it will drop in you have to dent the body by the alternator in some to get the right clearence but other than that it will drop in with the b18 transmission and mounts

you will need to order mounts to swap a b series into a civic there all over ebay and **** but with all that it will work.

Buy a mount kit. Get your wiring done by someone who knows WTF there talking about. Use DA teg axles, use all B series stuff.

A 92 B series trans that came out of an integra is a cable transmission.

But yes, running something like a 2000 Si tranny you will need a hydro mount kit with the hydro to cable conversion, HASport has a nice one.

 

oh my bad i was thinking 92 b16a sir-II even though he said he had a b18 the first thing that popped in my head was the b16 hydro trans...lol dont ask, its been a long day

 

You don't need to make any modifications to the wiring. But you can't use the harness that's on the b18. You have to use the stock civic harness.

Maybe I'm just old fashioned but I usually do a little research before I have an engine hanging from the hoist, positioned in the bay saying "well this doesn't line up at all!"
