thank you for the link i was reading fast and i missed the starter part.
i already took off the air box and alternator.
i also already took off the two bolts holding on the starter.
i just need to take off gound and wires i can't see connected to the starter and the STARTER itself. haha. oh man. this really sux.
previous car i've had was a '93 dx hatch with a b16a not a2 but a and the only problem i ever encountered with that was a jump because i was just running the radio.
a cop jumped me at around 1am in a empty parking lot.
atfter that i had no more problems.
car was always turning on and running.
this is the biggest bitch ever.
surprised my dad and my dads mechanic where the starter is.
its ludacris where its located.

**** Disconnect Battery ****
1) Remove Intake
2) Remove Accessory Belt
3) Remove top bolt of Alternator, losen lower and rotate away so you can get to the top starter bolt. (see any tranny removal thread) Remove bolt with long extension.
----
4) Remove intake support bracket (black bar) bolt (14mm on back/top of intake manifold) - Push water hose out of clip.
5) Jack up car, put on stands. (I did front only)
6) Unclip wire harnesses from intake support bracket, remove lower 14mm bolt and remove.
7) Remove power cable from back of starter. 12mm under rubber boot.
8) Remove other cable (spade connector - above power cable - you can't really see it - it pulls straight off, don't need to press anything)
9) Note the position of the knock sensor - the cable that you just took off with the spade connector shares wires with the knock sensor so its easy to spot. It has a green plastic ring on it too. The knock sensor is plastic and brittle. Don't break it. Seriously, its easy to do and a bitch to replace when the engine is in the car. (I didn't this time, but have broken it on other engine swaps).
10) Remove both 10mm bolts to fuel line bracket on frame where the hardline connects to the flexible one. This will give you more wiggle room to get the starter out.
11) Remove 14mm lower starter bolt. I used a 3/8's breaker bar and deep socket. It was the perfect length. Starter is now loose.
12) Back starter out of hole in block while paying attention to the knock sensor.
13) Twist and rotate starter to get it out. Takes a little time and finesse. Don't forget about that knock sensor.
14) Reverse steps to put it all back together. Getting the spade connector back on is a little bit of a pain because you can't see it. But just lay there on your back and fiddle with it. You'll get it eventually.

thank you for two of your guy's help.
my dad and i were able to pull that huge *** starter from that tight little space under the intake manifold.
now i just need to wait for honda in getting a starter.
its a freakin special order item.
i have to wait till tuesday after 10:30am.
after that i have to flush my coolant because we took off the water pump hose and coolant just bursted all over our garage floor.
o well. no big deal. hopefully my dad and i can put it back together without messing up especially the harnesses and plugs.
if anyone knows the torque on the two big main bolts that hold the starter itself against the tranny i would really appreciate it thank you.
im sure its not that big of a deal compaired to working into the internals when torquing.
but for a starter gear relying on the flywheel. i think it is. i just thought about it.
so if anyone. the torque on the two bolts holding the starter.

my dad and i just put in the new starter 30 mins ago.
we added more coolant because it was all drained from taking off the water pump hose to make room to take off the old starter.
we plugged everything back into its place. we double, triple, quadrouple checked everything. trust me.
now the car is not starting. its at the same start as when the old starter was in.
we don't think its the battery bc its at 12.98 jigawatts i mean volts.
thats enough voltage to starter the car on.
we don't think its the alternator bc when we were able to start the car with the old starter by popping the clutch in reverse going down our driveway i disconnected the positive(red) while the car was running and the car was still running with no more need of the battery.
would you guys possibly think that it could be the push start button?
damn man i have no clue.
were gonna try again tomorrow, jumping the car.
if its the alternator then its not a big deal because i can do that myself.
but i have not other clue.
please help.
ask me questions that i might be able to answer thats related to my problem.

o yeah we've done that already also with the old starter and from the old starter we found out it was the bushing.
it would stick every once in awhile and it ended up being the bushing of the starter.
and the fuses are fine not too sure how to check the big black ones.
i took the battery off. we're gonna have it check tomorrow. i highly doubt thats the problem.
damn man.

1. make sure all your grounds are connected from the chassis to the engine. Check continuity between engine block and frame.
2. Measure the voltage at the main starter connection. If = battery, OK.
3. If battery voltage at spade terminal when "start" button pushed, problem not wiring.
Just a few things to try my friend.

we found out what it was and it was what we eliminated in the first place.
the stupid freakin battery.
my dad took the battery to autozone and saw that the batter was dead with 12.?? volts.
we replaced it early this morning at napa.
the diagnostic test scanner said to replace battery so i got a replacement one for 38 bucks and she hooked me up with a brand new warranty. good stuff.
i hooked it up and bam!! ignition!!!!
ive missed hearing my n1. finally i can.
it was never the starter in the first place.
it was good that we replaced it though because it was gonna give in sooner or later bc of the bushing. my old starter that i gave back to honda use to stick after cold starts every once or twice a month.
i always thought i was holding the start engine button too long in the beginning when i first got my car but after awhile i noticed it wasn't me.
i learned a lot though over the days on how to remove the airbox(easy), replace cerpintine(spell??) belt(also easy), remove alternator(easy), and replace/remove starter(not so easy, need two people, under car and over motor)
thank you a lot though guys for all of your help.
i very much really appreciate it.

SUPER ADVAN VERSION 2 in 18's dark gun metallic wrapped in invo's on the way by the end of the week. yay!!!
old car, damn i miss it
hahaha
