Default Hey everyone

Hey everyone, haven't been in the /26 in quite a while and just wanted to say what's up. I'm still in Iraq, just hit my year mark ... only a few more months to go.

I still have my 600RR back home, although it's not in the best shape. I'm going to sell it when i get back as i dont want to move it to NC (i deployed so quickly after i got to Fort Bragg, i never had a chance to move my stuff). It won't pass inspections for me to ride it on base, or to get my license, and i really don't have a great place to work on it ... so i'll have a month while i'm on leave to try and sell it

MotoGP 2007 on XBOX 360 is as close as it gets for me out here. I've gotten to watch bits and pieces of some highlights on YouTube, but thats about it this last year

I'll probably be purchasing another RR when i get back, unless i see something else i really like. I also have to get a car too, so we'll see.

My lawsuit from 2005 is still in the works. My courtdate was in April, but i was here, so it's now been moved to June. Hopefully that all works out.

A few pics ..

Ok well ... i guess that's it!

Is that the Tigris? Can't imagine the **** you ******* have to deal with while we're sippin on lattes and the only worries we have is finding parking spots at the mall while Christmas shopping. Thanx, it means a lot that we CAN sip on our lattes and go Christmas shopping.

That is actually Lake Thar Thar. Saddam diverted the Tigris back in the day and created this massive man made lake.

I've worked alot around the Tigris though, and it really has been one of the worse areas. If you remember several months ago those 3 soldiers went missing, and are still missing I've done alot in that area.

But thanks for the support guys, i just can't wait to get back .. and to ride again! It will only be a few months until summer when i get back!

Even though I'm not american, my father was in the army and I identify myself with it. Thanks for making your country proud.

On another note...when you guys are done with Iraq, would you mind sending some soldiers this way? Chavez need to be put to a halt

hahah... no, i'm as whiiiiite as they come. You should see my tan line from a summer of pulling guard in a t-shirt. Probably the worst farmers tan in the world, that i'm sure will last for a year or two. ha.

But yep, i'm from Puyallup. I got to spent 2 weeks back home in July for mid-tour leave, and i spent pretty much the whole time in Seattle. I had a blast

Nope, no side arm. They only go to machine gunners and important people.

Seriously? Has this always been the case, or is a military budget thing of the past few years?

That's pretty much the case. The only people in our company (which is like 120 people) that carry a sidearm are the M240B machine gunners, and they only have them cause their weapon is pretty big and really meant to be fired either mounted or in the prone, and in the prone its hard to swing that thing around, so they have a sidearm.

The Beretta M9's they give them suck anyways.

A moped would be awesome. They sell bicycles here at the PX, if i knew i was gonna be here for 15 months instead of the 4 months we were told we'd be here, i would have gotten one on day 1.

Would you get in trouble if you started carrying a sidearm you picked up off a dead insurgent, or got on the black market? I've heard of SF and Delta guys getting away with stuff like that.
