Questions about header wrap
1) Where can I get some and for how much?
2) Are there any noticible gains? Are they worth the $$. Any dyno #'s.
3) Why would it void my jdm dc header warranty? The warranty paper says it will.
Thanks

1) I dunno about the price and how much it runs
2)From what I have heard on the board . You won't notice much gains , yeah it will keep the temp down alittle but not enough to improve anything
3)I will void your warrenty cuz , the wrap is containing the heat to the headers and the headers aren't air cooling no more , So this means the headers are actually running hotter now and are undergoing more heatstress . that could lead to warping or possibly cracking .
IMO forget the header wrap and look for other alternatives for keeping the engine cooler (Or intake if that is what the wrap was originally thougth of for)

i use it on one of my cars. i dont think you will see any extreme noticable gains only in a sense that it definiitly does its job of cooling down tempratures in the engine bay so in theory cooler engine bay = cooler motor = effiencey ? power.
http://www.summitracing.com carries the DEI brand and yes it will void the warranty

It seemed to work really well when I first got my civic waaay back when. But the header rusted apart. Wouldn't put it on a daily driver.
P.S. Will help keep MOST not all heat within exhaust system therfore reducing
suck the heat back up into the air intake..not too sure bout the warranty of the header

my taking on it is that it may not give you significant hp gains...but it helps alot in cooling down the engine bay...which depending on your intake setup..it makes a difference when your intake isn't sucking up a bunch of hot air from the header heat. like me

I have seen header wrap in summit for $30-40 depending on how much you get. But you also have to get locking ties...
so most of the ppl here are saying not to use header wrap??
I was gonna get it! now I am having doubts
I thought the idea was more to keep the exhaust gases hotter so it increases velocity?
Isn't that why the ceramic-coated headers tend to give better numbers than stainless steel ones...
The cooler engine bay is like a side effect
Am I way off here??
