Default 99 accord gauges not lighting up.

When I turn the headlights on, the dashlights go out but the turn signal lights still work. I cannot figure out what is wrong.

I have already taken the gauge cluster out and all of the bulbs are good. There must be something other than a fuse causing the problem.

I was told that there was a recall on the multiplex control unit but when i went to the dealership, the recall wasn't in their system. IAM NAS, if you are looking at the fuse box on the driver side, the second fuse on the right row is the one you should change. it should be a 7.5a fuse. So back to my problem, is there anything anyone could come up with that could be causing the problem?

could it be a relay? I have been trying to diagnose a problem with my 93 civic that is similar... when I turn the headlights on it takes a while for my interior and running lights to come on. of course they are probably different problems, but I am curious to hear of what fixes it for you.

good luck
