Quality question!
I bought a JE piston and Eagle rod combo on ebay but now just before the guy is gonna sent me the set, he says he is gonna sent me SRP pistons!
Should I accept this?
In my thought SRP is just 2nd brand stuff from JE.
Has anybody a nice technical explanation why SRP is less better than JE pistons?
Thanks!
Frank

If you paid for JE's i would expect JE's!
JE makes the SRP piston. It's just a different line of piston. Different materials and manufacturing processes.

Get the JE's you originally paid for. SRP's have to many issues and for the most part are a poorly designed piston.
I saw that auction, if I'm not mistaken. The seller tries to make it seem like they are JE pistons but if you read carefully it says SRP. The JE + Eagle combo was an additional $60 or so more.
I believe the srp pistons use a different aluminum material. The forging process maybe different too.
I would email JE to get the most educated answer.

if im not mistaken SRP have a lower silicone content and therefore expand less then the JE with a high silicone content. i think thats what the diff was, something to that effect.
why ebay?
there are plenty of honda-tech sponsors dying to sell piston and rod combos. for the same price, and even for a few dollars more you wouldnt be going thru this mess.
but i wouldnt use SRP pistons either, i am not a big fan, from the results i have seen and personally dealt with

81.00mm 176449, Rings JXC0F4-3189-3, Eagle Rod CRS5290H3D
I searched the JE site and the 176449 is the right JE piston type.
He mailed me that he is gonna sent me what I have ordered. I hope this means I am getting the JE's
