97 dc coupe swap info
If you really have a b16a2, then that motor is OBD2 already. If it is a b16a2 out of a 99-00 civic SI, then you dont need any different mounts assuming your b16a2 has all the brakets connected to it. You can also just use the motor/ecu harness with the SI ecu in your car.
Basically, it should drop right in.

What car did your b16a2 come out of?
Get a b16a2 swap from a 99-00 SI and it will drop right in. Just make sure to get all the motor brackets and mounts and the harness and ecu.
It will fall right in.

yep...it will drop right in (the A2/3)....you can either use your stock harness and modify it w/ the necessary wires or buy a 96-98 EX to skip some of that process. The 99-00 Si harness will not work w/ your car so you have to use your stock harness or the 96-98 harness. Si linkage/axles
dont have the b16 yet hence my question a2 or a3. aparently i need an a3
A3 is OBD-I.
Piece of advice (just my opinion) - don't put an OBD-I engine in an OBD-II car. It's just not worth the effort. Yes, it can be done. Yes, it can be done well. Yes, OBD-I engines are more "tunable" due to computer issues, but it isn't worth all the work for you.
Just my $0.02

why doesnt the 99-00 si harness work everything is obd2? since its a dx vtec will have to be wired in, 2 wires straight off the ecu should do it eh?
Need multiple wires working properly from ECU to make this work. Many may have all the equipment from under the hood, but some do not.

A 99-00 ECU will not plug into a 96-98 harness. Thats why you need to get the SI harness if you want to use the SI ECU
