1991 Teg Engine/Tranny in a jdm B16 equiped EF9, Whats required?

Default 1991 Teg Engine/Tranny in a jdm B16 equiped EF9, Whats required?

i have a 1988 civic hatch. it currently has a JDM B16 with tranny in it. im looking to swap it for a 1991 integra engine and transmission. has anyone had any experience with this. i need to know all that is required, Wiring, ECU, Vacuum, etc.
please any help would be great

the motor and tranny will drop right in to the stock mounts u will need an ls ECU. ur best bet is to use the ls motor and the b16 tranny which will give you better gearing as for wiring and vaccum idk

ya im actually just going to have it in there for a bit while i use my b16 to build an ls/vtec. does anyone have any answers for wiring and vacuum?? those are the things im most worried about.

i suggest you keep the B16 in there. build your LS buttom for your LSV, get a P30 IM at least(less vaccum lines to worry about), convert to OBD1, do the swap when all parts ready.

the B16 head requires less work the day when you want to do the swap. not unless you need to do some PnP on it. choose your valvetrain parts now while building the block as well.

I agree with this guy, I did the OBD1 B16 swap. Once you have the OBD1 stuff good to go there will be no issues with other OBD1 swaps later on down the road. There are tons of threads with all the information you need, all you have to do is search. The reason I'm not burning you is because I remember when I was a newb on here. Take care and good luck.

alright the reason im doing what im doing is so i can drive down the freeway to soccer practice without any hassel of revving to 4.5k rpm. will a B18A1 tranny fit a OBD0 JDM B16?

yep, or you could use your ls 5th gear in your current tranny.

so tranny shops will do that?? i was wondring. i was thinking b16 1-3 gears then ls 4-5.

You want 1-4 B16 then LS 5th. Not 1-3 then 4-5.
