Any suggestions on short shifters and what to look for when buying one for a 4th gen?

Also ive searched and found that some people remove the console while others say to go under the car work from there?

im absolutely clueless..is this really worth it?

 

Worth it? - Yes.
Want one? - forbiddenmotorsports.com
Install? - Take out the console area. A little trimming is required on the plastic trim that's under the shift boot.

It only comes with the shifter itself, you just replace it with your stock shifter using the same stock pieces.

i searched are see "SHORT SHIFTERS for sale" and SHORT SHIFTER ADAPTERS... would i need both? does the forbidden one come with both? clueless.

Nope. FB SS only comes with the short shifter itself. It's all you need, no adapter crap. Take out the stock shifter, put the FB one in it's place. Then go play.

Just order a 4bidden shifter....

Come on man...just buy the 4bidden. Why are you making excuses?

 

B&M is an adapter too.

Mine is the only currently available true short shifter. The adapters make the shifts a little clunky.

does anyone know local Forbidden dealers around Los Angeles? I dont have a credit card and prefer to pay in cash.

Haha. The poster above your last one is the owner of the company, he doesn't franchise out to distributors. The only way to get a shifter is on his site or maybe in the Prelude FS section stickied up top.

Get it when you can, you won't be disappointed.

 

Forbidden is not the only option, but for a True Short Shifter your choices are Forbidden Motorsports and PSpec Tuning.
Anything else are adapters which are not worth the money compared to a TRUE Short Shifter.

And yes, user "4bidden" owns, designs, and sells the Forbidden Motorsports products.


You should try searching here on H-T, not just Google.

Which is pretty much always the case, so I hear. But I didn't have to worry about it since I got in on a forbidden group buy a while ago.
