NGK wideband meter, anyone uning one?
i saw these online and they look pretty reasonable for an A/F gauge

i was thinking of getting one of those wideband meters and an apexi NEO a/f controller, you guys think i could tune some more ponies outta my motor with these two items, both would run me just about $500, i currently have no tune and my mods are listed below, i am always finding black soot on my rear bumper (rich) so i figure if i were to tune the a/f just right then i could yield some power
what are your thoughts?

its got 120,000 but they have been pretty easy miles (previous owner was in his 60's) and i lose absolutely no oil between changes, i can tell its fuel carbon, prob just running rich, and there is no cat anymore just a test pipe, but im obd-1 so the computer dont care
what do you suggest i do for computer/tuning ? i have heard of these products too but have no experience with them

My neighbor had one in his Cobra. Compared to my LM-1 (with custom remote display), the NGK was slow and less accurate. I wasn't impressed with it.

carbon could just be cuz you removed the cat. also... a piggyback is not a great tool. It seems like your goal is essentially to make the car run leaner - to generate more power? might be dangerous for your engine with the FC. If you are already obd1 - you are much better off getting hondata.
