Default ITR head.. does this look normal to you?

96' spec ITR head.. pretty dirty, but do those scratches on the wall look normal to you and the rocker arm wear? I think this is the first time in history this motor had its valve cover taken off. pretty yucky in there.

try using sea foam inside the engine..i heard it works wonders..i've never personally used it...

i would think brake cleaner would clean it ok, but i wouldnt trust brake cleaner going inside my crank case... or any part of my bearings cam or crank etc...

The 'scratch' marks are normal. Hard to see rocker arm wear with < 1/2 of the arm exposed.

yah man i love lap tops.
I'm putting on the new valve cover gasket set as we post on HT.

This motor pulled 230-235 across the board on a dry test. Is that good for a JDM itr motor? If its not i could always return the motor and pick out another one from the batch. Hopefully it just doesn't blow smoke out the tail pipe i know ITR's have a habit of burning oil.
