toda springs with spec A's or not with stock (been seaching for days)
im wondering if its is worth swappin out the itr valvetrain for toda springs when putting in toda A's..do the A's make enough power up top to rev past the stock redline with a just a mugen HG to bump the compression on an otherwise stock ITR motor(IHE)????? thanks guys

how old are your stock valvesprings and retainers?
i would swap them out since the toda As are a bit more agressive
and you don't need to go with toda valvesprings, there are plenty of good alternatives for a lot less money

Hey,
ITR springs work with everything up to and including 12 MM. I have a JUN II intake with stock springs. If you aren't exceeding 12MM lift or raising the RPM range, stock R springs work just fine.
If they are real old get new ones.
Unless needed, stiffer springs merely increase wear and tear without benefits.

the spring only have about 30k on them but im thinkin i might want to to more aggresive cams in the future. and i was thinking the toda springs might be overkill for the a's. maybe even robbing power from the engine??? am i completely wrong? also if i get spring will the stock retainers be fine?

if you are referring to ti retainers, they wear down too fast for daily driving

only correct way to determine that is to get on the dyno

As people have said, Toda A's will work fine with the OEM ITR valvetrain. Back in the day they were made off of CTR blanks...or so the story goes.
Not sure if the new ones are or not, but I kept my 'vintage' set of Spec A's just because it is such a great cam. Who knows, I might put them in someday, lol.

but are the springs too stiff for those cams and going to harm rockers or the cams after a while? i will be daily drivin this car...????im trying to decide if this is a stupid question or not?????
what about with the toda spings, blueprint ploished intake manifold with portmatch 70mm throttle body? mugen HG?

My brother's ITR with Toda A's didn't make maximum power until around 8500 or 8600 RPM. Fuel cut is set at 8900, if I recall correctly. Peak was ~192 whp.
Head is stock, with the exception of a Mugen gasket.
