I took my car to a local performance shop to have my 4-1 header put on. After a few hours of work i was told by the mechanic that i needed a flex pipe put on in order for the header to bolt up underneath. He said to take it to an exhaust shop and tell them i need a flex pipe put on at the same my header is put on. As anyone had the same trouble? The car is a 98 GSR

I purchased the headers from one of there authorized dealers, TunerzImage. Located in california, for 170$

 

It took them a few hours to realize that it didn't bolt right up? I hope they didn't charge you for all of that time.

 

no they didnt charge me anything

 

I'd give tunerzimage a call. The site you link to makes it seem like its supposed to come with a flexpipe.

 

yeah i figured id try and give them a call tomorrow sometime, but any exhaust shop can put one on right?

 

If it uses a donut gasket and spring bolts, then you don't need a flex pipe.
