Default more beneficial: upgraded valve springs/retainers :: upgraded valves?

i have a stock b18c-r and am looking to drop in a jun2 intake cam. i WAS considering dropping pct pistons but have since reconsidered after a bit of researching (and another thread). i originally was going to put some supertech flat valves but was advised against it numerous times. so now my question is, what would be better for me to invest in? springs retainers with stock valves or upgraded valves (of which type i am not sure) with stock springs/retainers.... thoughts/opinions (on this subject only) would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Springs over retainers, retainers over valves when a cam is upgraded.
