I had purchased a set of clear JDM fogs for my 4th gen and one of the bulbs ended up being burnt. I went ahead and ordered a set of new H3 bulbs, but unknowingly ordered 12V 80W specific bulbs... eBay

I think I needed 12V 55W specific bulbs. I'm going to guess it's not a very good idea to use the wrong wattage bulbs, am I correct? Should I go ahead and order the correct ones or would these bulbs work?

 

They're just going to be brighter/hotter.

Make sure you have them wired up on their own power feed with a relay and all, if you put an extra 35w load on the parking light system you might blow fuses, that would be almost 3 more amps.

I have them wired up just like factory, with the under-dash relay... just no fog light switch for now; paper clip. I'll most likely play it safe and use the correct bulb as recommended.
