Here's the deal on it:

21K, It runs but the carbs need to be cleaned, tires replaced, new battery, front fork seals replaced, new clutch handle, and leaks some fuel from around the gas tank. This bike doesn't have any plastics except the rear tail section, going for the streetfighter look. It ran when last time I charged it up and I'm sure it will if i jumped it again. Fix it up as a winter project and have a great beginner bike or make one hell of a go cart or gold cart.. heh. 700 OBO.</TD></TR></TABLE>

He has a clean title in hand for it. I can get the front fairings for it for &lt;$100, but I'm trying to figure out how much it will be to get the carbs cleaned, battery, clutch handle and front fork seals replaced. My planned total budget for this bike is &lt;$2k.

It's missing some $$ parts and needs some $$ things fixed.

If you buy it, I suggest doing most of the work yourself, and you'll learn a lot and also save a ton of money. Call your honda dealer for some price quotes, but a carb clean will be at least $300, fork seals will probably be around there, also you need to fix the leak from the gas tank (probably the petcock). Ties will be $300, I'm sure it'll need new plugs, fluids, fairings, brakepads, chain and sprockets $150-$300 installed....

If you want it for a winter project and are good at doing the work yourself, I'd say $500 is a fair price. But it just seems like a lot of work, time, and money to put into it.

Or, buy it for cheap, then part it out for around a grand and buy something else.

Yeah my best friend is big into bikes, and is well-versed at repairing/modding them. I'm in no rush to get this bike running too, I just want to have a nice 1st bike this summer and upgrade in the next couple of years.

Could I just buy a used front fork in good shape?

Yea, you could pick up a set of F3 forks (more adjustable) for around $1-200. But if you replace the seals yourself you could respring/revalve and freshen up the forks. What year F2 is that?

Just know there will be many hours put into that bike. Mine looked about like that when I bought it, and finally after hundreds of hours and dollars, it looks and runs like a bike should.

He's sitting at $600, I'm firm at my original offer of $500.

Fnan, if you pick it up and want fairings, I went street fighter on the F2 I picked up this past summer. I have most of the fairings still, headlight, etc. I also have another set of carbs that came off another F2 motor.

Nice pick up. If you streetfighter it, I'd say you can put together a reliable and quick bike for around 1g... not bad if you ask me

yeah for now i have no idea what so ever is wrong with the bike, as i have not open it up to look yet, but when i try to start it , it crank but wont start so im guessing either bad stater or some rod bearings inside is gone.

This is a stupid question, but where are you getting it from? I sold my F2 that looked JUST LIKE THAT. Almost exactly. Was going to be a project bike, then I moved to SC.

ProjectF4

ps. If it came with an older corbin seat and an extra black gastank, it was mine.

Why do you think the starter or rod bearings are shot?

If it cranks, but wont start, I would say you are either not getting spark or fuel. I'd pull the plugs and make sure they aren't fouled, and a carb clean is probably in order. Try putting a little starting fluid into the carbs and see if she starts up. Also, your battery might be weak now if you've been cranking the bike over without it starting.

I decided to pass on it, since the seller didn't get back to me until 5 days later. It's now sitting outside in MN snow.

I did find a complete, well-running F2 for $1,200/BO though...
