Default Yes, another flywheel post.

simply put... I am having a hard time getting my comptech FW. I can, however, get a Spoon FW anytime...

Is the comptech worth the extra wait?????

And yes I did a search!

Have you tried Rene at Acura in Markham? He has good contacts with the folks at Comptech. If he can't get it, then Comptech doesn't have any in stock!

Save your money and get a clutchmasters fw. Same as fidanza and under $300 US.

Hmmmm... clutchmasters, fidanza, Spoon or Comptech... well the Comptech is definitely the most expensive of the bunch.

I need to make a decision.

Go with a chromoly unit! Reguardless of the manu! Aluminum units WILL STRETCH under high heat! I have seen ring gears come off several times! They may look good, but the safe bet is a chromoly unit!!
Cheers!

Spoon grinds mad yo...

If I could do it over, clutch master or fidanza

Ignore this comment. There have been no reports of failure of Comptech's aluminum flywheel and the Realtime team have used then for several season (standing starts and all) with no problems.

This old chestnut is from prehistory.

I ordered a Comptech flywheel yesterday and, after calling Comprech directly, the dealer said that I should have it by Friday. Who told you that there was a backorder?

I agree, people are too misinformed to be posting information like this.. If I were you I would wait until you can get a Comptech Aluminum Flywheel. I spoke with someone from Comptech yesterday as well, and if I were to order one it would be here by next week at the latest... I can't wait till I have the money to order one. I won't regret it, and you won't either.

Misinformed eh? From a guy that has been selling flywheels and clutches to hundreds of people? It's his experience, and I'll bet money it vastly outweighs yours.

I would get the Clutchmasters flywheel. I have one, and it feels great, and no starter grinding problems at all.

Thats right Johnnyboy. If you haven't heard Ravage00 there is going to be a meet at the dragway next Saturday.

Let's see what your LS motor can do in the quarter.

If this is indeed true could you please state the brand and provide supporting evidence that it was indeed due to the difference in materials and not due to shoddy workmanship.
Thank you,
Austin

They were on back order...I have a friend that has been waiting for ~2 weeks for their flywheel.

Agreed chromoly

There's ppl races every weekend in Japan. Chromoly is way more durable.

Someone should tell the Realtime guys.
