Default H22A or SOHC Turbo

what do you guys think i should do?

i can get the h22 for about $4000 installed and keep it pretty much stock for a while after that or should i get a greddy turbo kit off ebay for $1670 and just build on that??

the car is a 98 civic coupe and i will be driving it to college which is about 30 miles away from where i live each way and id be coming back on weekends

thanks

you will be alot faster with the h22 but if your pocket cant handle dropping 4000 for a motor then go turbo or even any b16 or b18. I vote for the h22 if you have the money

what do you want to do with the car?

If you just want to drag race go for the h22.

I wouldn't put one in my car though. Very heavy.

i just want it to be able to be able to be driven on the street without problems, like 30 miles trips i need it for for college and i dont know if a turbo would cause it to overheat

i would just love to beat any camaro or mustang that pulled and next to me and laughed at my ex badges

Well in the end the H22A would have the most potential, but if you want the turbo, you would not have to worry on 30 mile trips. I drive about 100 miles a day and mine has never overheated at all. I have a SOHC with the greddy kit, and it's beautiful. Now before you go attacking the mustang's and camaro's you'll have to do alittle more than that turbo, i've kept up, but then in the top they go bye bye. But i'm only pushing 5psi. So for the time being i think a turbo sohc could beat the h22 coupe, but in the long run and with the h22 you'd have much more fun. And as long as either are done correctly they will both be very reliable.

I don't think you will beat a mustang or camaro no matter which way you deciede to go. Unless it's a V6.

I think you'll break off more than v6's with the h22 and bolt ons as long as the motor is in good cond. there's a guy with an H22 in a coupe that pulls on alot of v6's and v8's. i give the h22 swap a
