Hit a curb really hard, what is wrong with my suspension?
Hey guys, my brother has a 2002 EX and looks like he might've fallen asleep a little at the wheel and hit a curb really hard. He had 04 EX alloys on and basically ripped the tire off. We put steelies back on for now but what could be messed up with it? Could an alignment fix this? Just want to know so if I bring it into a shop we don't get completely ripped off. Any help is appreciated!

Haha yes something does seem to be bent...pretty bad! Sorry for my stupidity, is it expensive to replace? Would it be easy to do myself if I bought another lower control arm?
The Civics converted to MacPherson in '01, and struts are a fairly weak point in a front suspension. I would be willing to be a lot of money the control arm, along with the strut is bent as hell. You very possibly could have a bent knuckle as well. Your cradle probably shifted, and you could haqve issues with your tie rods now.
Tell him not to drive if he's going to fall asleep. That's a lot of damage.

That all depends...judging by your questions...you'll want to get it looked at by a professional. At least take it to a tire/alignment shop so somebody with suspension knowledge can look at it.

It shouldn't be very hard to bolt on new (or junkyard) stuff. I would start with the control arm and the strut. The tie rod ends should be straight. If they're not, replace them too. That's where most of the expense at a shop comes from. Replace the parts yourself (if you're mechanically inclined enough to do so) and then go have it aligned.

could be any of the things hatchling listed, take the wheel off and check it out.

It's probably not all that bad, if you don't want to get ripped a new one you'll have to start replacing stuff in the order above. I know a few people who have gotten away with just an LCA replacement.

yea like above..change the LCA first, then strut. get it to the alignment shop to see if they can get you the specs after u change these two items. if its still bent then u can change the tie rods or knuckle...
