hey bros...sorry for noobie question... but a friend of mines is gonna buy a DA... so far we havent seen the car yet but how do u know if its a real legit GSR or not? by lookin at the shell of course...i know a real 93 GSR would only have a B17 DOHC VTEC motor but how can you tell from the outside exterior or interior of the car, so we dont make a mistake before this purchase? all help is appreciated....

 

92-93 GSR's only came in red, white, and a teal. so if its any other then its a no go if its stock paint

 

92 AND 93 gsr's have the B17

 

read the vin number. it should read db2 instead of da9.

appearance wise, the car should have paint matched moldings and the molding on the fender should say vtec and not dohc.

all the other crap people have said can be done at the owner's extent, only real proof you'll have is the vin

check all those things. vin, b17 motor, vtec moldings, gsr cluster,etc. ask for some background of the car: previous owners, accidents, etc.

 

gsr have 3rd brake light on the wing

 

thanks alot guys....u guys were all right...the moldings matched...the small molding on the fender said VTEC and also the cluster and tail light matched...however the best information was the VIN....that was right on target...thanks and my friend ended up buying the car...again thanks Team!

I do believe there was a black one of the years, but I could be mistaken.

Plus extra, I think they were all black interiors also.

Along with the 3rd brake light being on the wing, there is none on the hatch window like the LS/RS/GS.

But, since your friend already got it(lucky man), hope he treats it good and happy modding.
