Are you asking about the techs? They are usually pretty good at what they do. I have a friend who works at a Honda dealer, he told me most the guys there have fully built hondas and acuras that they have built not bought, most running low 12's all motor, and daily driven. But then again, this might be an isolated incidence

its a very mixed bag at any mechanic shop...
there are people who got educated in schools who know the theorys but dont have enough hands on experience to identify certain things....
there are people who have all hands on experience but dont know enough about the theory to know how to diagnose super technical stuff....
and then there are those people who have both... book smarts and hands on smarts...
those are the best.
