Default questions about rebuilding my h23a1

i took apart my h23a1 turbo and found pieces of all 4 pistons were broken and there was metal shavings in the oil pan coming from the main bearings, so im debating whether to rebuilt the same engine or to buy a jdm.
if i rebuilt the same engine a wanna go with lower compression pistons, rods , if anyone has done an h23 turbo built i would appreciate if you could help me with mine.thanks

how badly scarred are the cylinder walls? you need to have the cylinder walls checked with a bore gauge to check for egging. You also will need to have the mains and rod journals checked because you obviously fucked something up bad.

honestly, it would probably be cheaper to find another motor.

I think a JDM F22B is calling your name!

And if you say all 4 pistons were cracked and the mains were spun then have a LOT of work to get that block going again! Getting it re-sleeved would probably be more than a used F22B or H23.

the ringlands on all 4 pistons were cracked, the main bearings did not spin they just had a lot of wear on them.
