yes, we do a lot of F23 swaps these days. We really like these engines. We havent done a F2b yet but even with an H22 tranny the F23 is very fun and very cheap.

PS one thing to note with the F23, when tuning them they like the Vtec set very low

We prefer the non-vtec F22A engines because the heads flow a lot better. The F23 is good, when mated with one of our cam grinds, but for the ultimate in power, and reliability, the F22A1~6 is amazing!

This is what I'm trying right now. I hope to have it done by spring time. I'm using TSX pistons in the F23 bottom but need to find some ARP rod bolts that will work. The head is the easy part. I will be getting Bizi cam, springs, retainer's, and teflon exhaust spacers.

Listen to Bizi. Nobody in my opinion knows the F series better then him. The F22a will out flow any other F series head hands down.

My opinion:
F23 = OK
F22A = MUCH Better

The vtec assembly is also quite heavy, and valvetrain mass is the enemy of performance.

so basically your saying non vtec head but with cam profiles that or equal to or greater then a vtec cam, correct? makes sense

F23 engine can be had for $350-500 shipped

let me know when you figure out the rod bolt issue. I'm doing a similar setup. F22A6 with k20z1 pistons.

the f23 has one of the longest strokes out of the h/f series. it also has 86mm sleeve's so you can use rsx pistons. also you can put a h head on their when you can afford it

What is funny is if I use an H22 head, I'd go slower, and make less power than my F22A. lol.

I think that the H's are overrated. It must have something to do with the VTEC effect . That's OK with me cause as long as there are a bunch of kids looking to swap H's then the F's will stay cheap.
