Default Question about bumper covers

Well last night I finally got the first bit of damage done to my car since I've owned it... A buddy of mine was backing out in a big truck and didn't see it behind him. He broke my Honda emblem off my grille and his exhaust pipe stabbed through my bumper cover. So now it's time to get a new one. I have a 98 Accord Sedan with this front bumper cover...

I want to get the 01-02 Coupe bumper cover like this....

Does anyone know if that will fit my car? I like the looks of it alot better and just want to be different. Thanks in advance! Matt

You'll have gaps around the hood and there would be problems with fitment along the headlamps.

Why would there be problems around the headlamps? I thought they were the same for 98-02

You could just check the part #'s between the 2 cars for the headlights, and see if the hood and fenders are similar.

I dont see why a good body shop couldn't make it work if they were similar!

I think because you have aftermarket headlights and they fit like crap

Yeah, that really has nothing to do with what I asked but thanks anyways... That guy was saying the OEM headlamps...

Well none of that part numbers are the same but all the bolt holes and such are the same for both bumpers. I think it would bolt right up but I'm not sure how fitment would be with the hood and headlights as mentioned above. I think I'll ask at the dealership tomorrow and see what they tell me. Has no one on here ever done this before?

Well to anyone that ever considers swapping a coupe front end to a sedan front end on a 6th gen accord... All you have to buy is the coupe front bumper cover and the coupe hood of the same year (i.e.-an 02 bumper with an 02 hood, a 99 coupe bumper with a 99 coupe hood) or else there will be a gap between the hood and grille. No fender swapping or headlight swapping involved. Thanks everyone
