Default B18C4 tuning

Hello,

I live in Europe and have a B18C4 engine in my CRX del sol with engine swap :-)
I woud like more power ofcourse !

What I have, these are fix parts

PCT piston with 0,5mm oversized
Eagle rods with the arp bolts
ported head, exhaust valve 1mm, intake valve 0,5mm oversized
lightweighted stock crankshaft
Fidanza 7,5lbs aluminium flywheel
High flow exhaust

What I dont know for this setup is the camshaft ofcourse....

My plan is :

Skunk2 intake manifold ( 307-05-0270 ) with Skunk2 68mm thorttle body ( 309-05-0040 )
Skunk2 pro2 camshaft ( 305-05-5145 )
Skunk2 pro series vale spring ( 311-05-5350 )
Skunk2 pro series titanium retainers ( 308-05-0300 )

What do you think about ? Will the Skunk2 pro2 camshaft right for my engine, does anybody have any experience with that camshaft ?
I'm thingking on the Rocket motorsport camshaft too but I dont know too much about it and than what kind of valves springs, retainers and IM will the best for it... hard question....
Thank You !!!

I would not personally recommend the pro 2 cams for your build because you're using oversize valves and PCT pistons and it's a 1.8L street motor.

I would go with the pro 1 cams or the Rocket Motorsport M22xx cams for that build and I would think you'll be happy. If you use the Skunk cams use their valvetrain, if you use RM cams, use their SL valvetrain. You will have to make sure your engine is put together correctly and your cams are degreed in and P2V and V2V clearances are checked. Hope you have something good to tune with like a hondata system etc.

Hello,

Thank you. The Skunk2 pro 2 is for 2.0 liter engine ? The pct piston and the high compression why can be a problem ? I plan around 12,4:1 :-) In Europe there is 100 octane :-)
I saw that you have RM M22x camshaft and 11,5:1 comp ratio in your engine, do u have video about it ? How many hp did your car on the Dyno ?
Thank You !

I thought I read that somewhere but I took a quick look on their site and couldn't find that info specifically.

The pro 2 is better suited for a 2L engine in my own personal opinion. Compression isn't your problem, it's cubic inches...pro 2's will work on a 1.8L, but they will work "better" on a 2L.

I do have the RM M22x cams which are well suited for my build and it's current compression ratio. I would recomend the RM M22xx cams for you which have slightly bigger primary lobes which will give you more power below VTEC like the S2 pro series cams do. You have the compression the M22xx cams need, I don't.

My car is evolving (power wise) right now, you can follow it on this thread:
