98-00 gsr motor in 96 hatchback?
Yes, it will bolt in w/ out much trouble. Your engine & car are both OBD2, so therefore you can use stock harness from GSR along w/ GSR ECU. The only time you would need to use a OBD1 harness is if either your car / engine were diff. since both are OBD2, you are straight. Make sure you properly wire knock sensor!!! this can be tricky. Good luck!

99-00 honda changed the plugs that go into the ECU. if i remember correctly and this could b backwards the 96-98 ECUs had A, C, and D plugs where the 99-00 cars had A, B, D plugs. i repinned my 99 car to 98 specs. its only 56 wires but it took 2 hrs. if i had another pair of hands it would have gone much faster.

These are the facts:
If you have a '96 Civic a '96-'99 Integra ECU WILL plug into your engine harness. The '00-'01 ECU plug style is different than the '96-'99 and the '94-'95.
You need to use your Civic engine harness and modify it to fit on the GS-R swap.
You can switch to OBD1 if you choose. But, it is not necessary.
Trey on these boards has the link to a 6G Civic swap page.
