Ride is more and most offf your dampers, get good shocks you can have a firm but not bouncy ride.
You need to come up with a plan and budget. I really only recomend Koni dampers.
lol @ ls1 homeboi another dark side driver? What kind of car do you have your ls1 in?

where do i buy springs with dampeners on them? this is confusing. will my friends be able put this on my car, or do i have to go to a honda dealership?
Yellow car has 160k mile old stock shocks with vintage Neuspeed race springs, rides fine.
Red car has vintage Koni double adjustables with 430f and 500r springs and rides fine.
Having a "slammed" car is stupid if its a daily commuter, on the rare occasion that the red car gets driven I curse at it because I have to slow down for every pot hole, speed bump, pebble on the road.
Get some Koni reds and some Eibach springs, somewhere in the vicinity of 150 lbs and it won't be painful.
Installation is a piece of cake, spray copious amounts of WD-40 to get the rusty bolts off.

I used H&R Race springs on KYB struts. It's low, very low. Was tucking my winter tires last winter with that setup. Rode like a dream with no bounce at all. Problem was whenever we got more then 5 inches of snow i could feel it big time thru the floor boards.
May that car RIP.

I would go with Toad's recommendation. Eibach springs are awesome. You can also call Eibach and get their recommendation. It all comes down to what kind of budget you have.

well i got Koni/unknown Coilover(prolly egay?)/Custom top hats(1.25 inch added)
ride is real smooth. depends on how you stiffen or soften your shock to. i could feel the bump but the shock would regain the impact real quick.
heres the height of my car:
