Default My 91 hatch build up. Project Junkyard dog.

This has been an on going project for nearly 2 years. On to the car build up. I searched for nearly a year for a clean hatch or crx,and could not find one. I was in the junkyard one day and saw a teal 91 si hatch. The car was in good shape other then the fender and door had ben hit, but not to hard. No frame damage. The side window was broken and there was about an inch of dust inside the car. So I had it towed home and the fun started. I had big plans for the car. It would be a weekend driver for me. I wanted a new car look and feel. I have replaced just about everything on the car. The car will be done in the next few weeks so I will post pics as progress is made. Here are pics of the paint progress so far. This is when they first started working on the car. New pics on page 4!

All the glass is taken out. The car is masked halfway down because I am using a Wings West kit, and I didn't want over spray on the suspension. There was no rust on the car. I had to replace the left fender and door.
Lots of prep work on the Wings West stuff to make sure it wasn't wavy after paint. I have always liked this kit. Clean and simple. I am not a fan of wild body kits. I found a shop that had this kit in the back for a few years. I bought it new in the box for $300

I have replaced everything on the suspension with,
Energy Suspension bushings
Prothane rear trailing arm bushings
ST front and rear sway bar
Skunk 2 pro series coilovers
Skunk 2 rear camber kit
Skunk2 rear control arms
Revo front camber kit
Skunk 2 rear upper and lower rear bars
Tanabe front upper and lower bars
ETD racing traction bar
The brakes on the car are Willwood Fastbrakes 11" front and rear kit.
I will post pics and info of the engine when it gets out of paint.

Here are a few more pics. Some of these are not in order. First coat of primer here.

Last coat of primer after blocking 3 coats total.

I sould be posting pics of the paint later tonight if the painter emails me.
As far as the interior goes it has
New carpet
New door panels last 2 from Honda vintage parts
Jdm center console and armrest
Recaro seats.
Momo wheel.
I will have lots of cleaning to do to get all the sanding dust out.
Enjoy

No its not a Treadstone turbo kit, but the intercooler and pipe is. Good eye Btw. I had my manifold downpipe and dump made by Bob at Rc auto works. Bob at Rc was great.
Here are a few pics of his mock up. I sent the parts to Jet hot to be coated with extreme sterling.

Thanks. No numbers. I do not have the kit on yet, just the intercooler. I have to finish the car when its out of paint. I have lots of work to do. The bumper required very minor mods, But keep in mind its not stock its a Wings West bumper. I did the engine swap and drove the car about 5 miles before going to paint. I still need to put the turbo on, do the stereo car alarm and some other stuff.

Here are the rest of the pics. My painter says he might have it done in a week. The
car still has to be wet sanded and buffed. I am really happy with the results.

Thanks for the thumbs up guys! Here is a pic of the engine Jdm type r. Please dont mind the mess wires ect. I have much cleanup to do. This was day 2 of the swap. I am running an Inline Pro head gasket and plan on running about 7 psi.
Some of you may ask why you are boosting an R? 200 hp was not enough for me.
I have a very good tuner.

Nice build up. Love the color. I used to sweat that kit hard back when I was younger, not so much now, but it still can look nice if done right.

Took the words out of my mouth. If someone tried to tell me Tahitian Green Peal sucked; two weeks later they'd be in a coma with their jaw wired shut.
