Heat gun or hair dryer will work, just peel it off. You'll have to go back with cleaner and a razor blade to get the glue off. Tint-free looks better anyway

x2 I borrowed a heatgun from a friend and you just heat up the tint little sections at a time until it starts to shrink. (Start with the corners and just peel as you heat up the tint in front of you.) It will all come off. If you are smooth with pulling the tint off, there should be a minimum amount of glue residue left.

To remove the rest, I suggest a big bottle of Goo Gone, a cotton cloth, and some elbow grease!

Goto walmart and buy a can of Tuff Stuff (upholstery/vynil) cleaner. it eats away the glue and you can take some steelwool (mild or fine) or scotch bright and scrub it off, it wont scratch the glass and it basicly desolves it away.

1. rip off the tint, side windows are easy but the back window has a defroster line that you cant break because the defroster wont work if you do.
2. once you take off the tint you will probly have glue left on the window
3. spray TuffStuff onto the whole window
4. let it eat at it for a few seconds
5. scrub with steel wool or scotch bright
6. then wipe away all the goop
7. reclean with window cleaner
AND YOUR DONE!!!!!
redo on each window and you will be tint free in no time!

the heat gun is ok if you have paitence and a heat gun but i have tried all kinds of chemicals and all kinds of techniques and the "rip and scrub" is the best method to me. but it all depends, if your window tint is still new it might all come off without glue residue, or minimal glue left. either way tuffstuff is definatly better then amonia, goo gone, etc. trust me on this one. you might spend $5 on tuffstuff and steel wool and your good to go! and its all at waltmart too!

yeah it took me a few years of trial and error and i finally found a secret ingrediant! the steel wool works great around the defroster lines because it doesn't tear them!

I got too many tickets w/ the tints my car came with, so i just didnt want to deal with it being a PITA so i payed a local tint shop to do it for me. Cost me about 100$ if i remember correctly.
