Default Cutting above rear fender well.

Does anyone on here have any expirience with cutting out the metal above the rear fenderwells. I have a sawzaw but do not know where is safe to cut. I want it to look like this

Does anyone have a better picture. Also is there anything better to use other than a sawzaw. I do not want to go to far and damage the rear quarter panel.

Thanks

his gas door is welded shut. I dont think that there is any difference but on Canadian efs thats the side with the filler neck. If you don't have a fuel cell somewhere that doesnt use said filler neck I would say this is a bad idea

The car is a race car and has a fuel cell up front.. I am just worried about cutting to far up or hitting the quarter panel.

That makes sence. Probably your safest bet would be to start on the seam that runs over the wheel well, and then start notching pieces out higher up to see how much room you have until quarter panel. Where has he cut by the window in that pic?

there is a really handy air tool you could use . its like a mini sawzaw. i used it on a rear quarter of a taurus and it worked awesome. the blade is small and flimsy but cuts very well .
