Time for a new website: Looking for your suggestions & ideas
During the course of the next several weeks, I want to build a new website for my book to improve its look and content. What I'm trying to figure out is what types of things I might be able to have on the site that would be useful to people. Right now I have a page of racing resources / companies, and a page with videos of autocrossing & racing.
Ideally I'd like to add content that now only will help people, but will inturn help spread the word of the website. Are there any types of things that you can think? Maybe a check list of items people need to bring for their first autocross or HPDE? Thanks for the suggestions!
Oh, guess I should include the website so you can see what's already there. http://www.GoAheadTakeTheWheel.com I'm thinking of taking off the "Tell your stories" pages, unless you think differently.

I like the idea of a checklist for autocross or HPDEs. If you made it easily printable that would be nice. A Tech/How To section might help drive people to your site. Maybe include some of the more common maintanance routines track junkies have to perform.
I've been plugging away at building the new site. It's amazing how much time it takes, but is actually pretty fun. So far I've added a list of stuff to bring for autocross, HPDEs, and kill switch installation "how to".
The common maintenance idea is also a good one!

Well, the new site is up and running. I've gotta say, it was a bit nerve wracking taking the old one down and loading the new files since I wasn't so sure that I knew what I was doing. But it works! I did find a couple items that need attention, but it's better than my old site.
what do you use to build the website?
I built one for a family members dairy farm and used Dreamweaver MX. By using a CSS layout I was able to make everything in a template so that if I update a link on page 1, it replicates through to all of the other pages with that link.
Your site looks good.

Site looks good. I bought the book a few weeks back and its good stuff
I'd recommend maybe adding a section on things like monitoring tire pressures and using show polish on the tire to see how far it rolls etc. Mainly beginner stuff to help them manage tires.

The last website version I used one of GoDaddy's programs, but they discontinued it. After running into some issues and them not being able to support the software, I decided I really wanted to use my Mac vs. Windows to create this site. So, I used iWeb on the Mac. Overall, I'm happy with the software.
The additional help info. you mentioned sounds good. Keep the ideas coming.
Thanks!!!
