Im thinking bumpstops. What kind are you using, and are they trimmed at all?

Never use less than 1" of bump stop.

When using dampers with the same body length as stock (such as the Koni 8041-Sport), you have to maintain a reasonable ride height to allow enough compression travel. Otherwise, you should run Ground Control upper mounts.

The other option is to run the shortened Koni 8041-Race dampers (do not use these with Ground Control upper mounts).

hmm 8" long springs, same as what I was running up front, but mine were 380 lb/in. I never had an issue with travel, even with slightly tucking tires.

I was also running 7" springs in back. Stock bump stops were cut in half.

oh wait, the keeper springs I'm thinking may be part of the problem. That's a lot of spring to run (both the keepers along with 8" springs). I think you would be better off with a 7" spring, or maybe even a 6.5" spring, along with the keepers, or no keeper springs at all.

The spring isn't going to limit travel though - an 8" spring is not going to reach coil bind with stock-length dampers on a '92-95 Civic (which I'm assuming he has). Spring length really has nothing to do with travel except in extreme cases. The only thing that switching to a shorter spring at the same ride height does is raise the position of the spring perch on the sleeve.

Plus, if they're helper springs (not tenders), they will be fully compressed at rest anyway.

Well I had 8" springs in front on my Ground Controls, lowered pretty significantly and I still had plenty of shock travel left. I don't understand why he had to raise it up to 4x4 mode just to get 1" of travel.
