Default under cover mess

I took off my valve cover to paint it and underneath i found this



how do i clean this/whats safe to use without causing problems?

WHAT THE expletive ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT?

Thats normal, Its from the oil.

Never mind.

Use Simple green to clean it.

Make sure you use sand paper.

Try a hose and soap, but only the liquid soap no powder ****

lol @ the simple green + sand paper comment.

the only way to get that off is a mixture of bald eagle sweat and children's tears.....

but foreal leave it, its normal.

You could take some clean motor oil and a rag and just wipe off the old stuff that is on everything.

nah...it's all good. you just have to use a wire brush and like some1 said earlier, plenty of sand paper. gotta use a corse grit if you really want to get it all off tho

Try using some peanut butter, they worked great for my Volks as well.

ya know, for being new, you have a solid point there. It is normal, leave it. There are people on this site willing to help out....just not in the apperance/cosmetic section crowd. Try more tech focused sections of this forum.
