Default noise in my head

i just built a ls/v and it runs great but there is rattle in the head like a loose rocker arm but thay been adjusted several times and the noise comes and goes its worse when cold than hot. also im putting together a ls engine for my wife and was wondering if there is a difference between b18a1 rods and b1 rods can you mix and match them. thanks

The rattle might be the lost motion assemblies (LMA's). I had them go bad in 2 of my motors. If you have the bucks, buy the type r ones, they have a bigger face on them. As for the ls rods, I'm pretty sure their the same, but not positive...

u can also use the h22 lma with shims
and rods are the same.

Mine cost around $400 new from the dealer. you need 8 of them, so the $400 was for all 8.That was on a hookup with some guy on honda-tech that worked at a dealer. Retail around $450-$500. As far as I know the dealer is the only place to get them, unless you can find another vtec head for cheep that they are still good in...

Whoa.... I paid somewhere around $280 shipped for mine.
