Default Powder coated tranny......good idea?

is powder coating the trans case too much? reason im asking is because i know you need too "cook" the part in a 400 degree oven, will this hurt the case in anyway?

400 degrees is nothing compared to the temp that it gets while its running on the car.

its all about attention too detail. you dont have too buy $400 parts too make you car look good. alls you need is some powder coating, some paint, and patients.

I think this is a great idea and I'm "In for pics" But just my $0.02, I think you should clean it really good (as if you weren't) and get out any scratches as best you can and then clear powder it. Colors are as cool as they are, but nothing looks as good as what looks like a brand new part.

I think that would be really neato.

great point. i get a lot of stuff coated, and this car im actually keeping. ive had 6 this year already. this car im going all out. i want the "stockISH" look. meaning a color close too stock, but slightly different too add too the custom effect. regaurdless as long as its not super crazy itll look good.

Yea, the cleared tranny would look stockish, but a little off because it would be shinier. The color though, can't be beat.

I wouldn't do the inside as it may affect the clearances. Stick to the outside.
