You couldn't pay me enough to remove the bumper supports. Until I find a truck/trailer I can afford, I'll disable my airbags which is required, but not remove them.

Do they make Lexan Front and Rear windows for the type R?
I image the rear glass weighs quite a bit.

Jesus, let's see, you want to do a bottle, no cage, and no safety equipment.

We'll look for you on the Darwin awards.

Take the seats out and use milk crates instead. You can probably save a good 30 lbs there.

sell your 1k$ NOS kit, buy some cams and gears, tune them, and you'll make more power all the time, and lose the weight of the NOS bottle + lines, etc.

If you can't run 13's with those mods, maybe weight isn't the problem...

i dont think it should be that hard to be 13s. im running low 13s at 6lbs with full interior and all the good stuff that still came with the car. my friend with a gsr ran a 14.1 on a dry 50 shot. if he can do that with a 50 shot, im sure with you 100 shot you can hit them low 13's easily. oh yea, he also has full interior and a false floor system. did you try running at the track yet? see what you can run first, then maybe you can try some little weight reductions to see if you can get to a goal that you have in mind.

I did not remove my bumper supports or air bag because if I ever get in an accident I don't want my insurance to give me a hard time and possible deny my claim.
and mid 13's in steet trim is good enough for me

ok heres the deal . . . i dont think you all understand , i already hit mid 13's all motor no prob and high 12's with nos no prob . im upgrading to direct port and doing my susp this weekend to go low 12's/. . . .
i have slicks
im asking about weight reduction , where does hitting 13;s capable come from ? I was saying that becuase i have road racers and people hitting 14's making sggestions
ive been hitting 13's that for 2 years now . i want to pull like 12.0-12.2 or so . maybe faster.
i want the carpet in there. cuz i still drive everyday , i dont want it to look like a bucket. but want it lighter.
the ac is gone already, the seats are gone , jack and spare are gone , what else.

There is only so much weight you can reasonably remove from your car before it becomes a death trap.

I assume you already removed all the power window, door, and mirror assemblies? Remove your ABS? Heh heh...you could always acid-dip your body panels.

I thought the JDM front end does not have a front bumper support, so it's not like people haven't done it before. If you remove your bumper supports and air bags, though, you better pray that you don't get into an accident. I don't think that risk is worth the few pounds you would be saving.

Oh yeah...if all you want is straight-line performance, then remove your rear sway bar, if you haven't already.

Remove your power steering, get a carbon fiber hood, and some light wheels.
