Going to a place like autozone, pep boys, advance auto, etc. and getting it OBD-II port scanned with an OBD-II scanner is more efficient as it will give you a more accurate read-out, if your car is OBD-II ('96+). If your car is '95 or less, the OBD-I accuracy in that link I gave you is as accurate as you can get.
