Default its not about how big or long... but how you use it?

aem itr

stock itr intake with M's filter hybrid setup

according to blackR's old intake test, the stock itr elbow is adequate for the engine with the right filter setup since it beats the aem itr which is supposed to be better since it draws cooler air from outside...

does this mean the filter has a lot more to do with how much air goes in and velocity than intake length and diameter?

of course, im talking about street setups... i know a tuned long intake that sticks out the headlight is the best...

We know.

Why do you think the Mugen box doesn't come with an intake arm? Most people just use the Samco arm for aesthetic reasons.

3" SRI/BPI velocity stack/K&N filter will do just fine for me. Only cost $140 to put together.

No, it has something to do with the silicone and material, though the OEM arm IS JUST fine, I seen a graph giving a slight edge to the Samco arm though, on some old graph where all they tested were the two.

A slight edge may just be normal variance depending on how slight it was.

when the car is moving fast enough. (20-30 + mph) or more..
the air temp won't be too much of a difference between CAI or short ram.

and aem cai was never nice. that's why i got the v'stack set up with short ram

It was so long ago I wouldn't have a clue to where to find it, or even where to start looking for it.

suggestion for anyone using this type of intake...

Move the coolant overflow to the other side. Heat soak is a biotch...

A mod needs to retitle this thread to make for easy searching. That's why a lot of old informative topics get lost...

information > bad title
