Default Have a 91 CRX DX im restoring, what should i do for power now?

ok what i got is a rundown 1.5 dpfi, that had a bad ecu so i ordered a new ecu but the one i got was for the same motor and all just for the automatic tho, which im not entirely sure if any of the settings and curves are the same for the 5speed and AT?, i think the only major settings in the ecu is shift points and redline?, idk i plugged the ecu in and it made the car run 100% better, but my CEL is still on and it idles at 2k and idle surges every 2-3 seconds, so now my other question, this will be my daily driver, but i wanna do something else since i dont want a romping 90hp, should i go with carbs? mpfi?, what, i aint got alot of cash either since im rebuilding my dsm and my bike, so anyone? also can someone send me some guides for carb setups or something

How can I tell if my OBD1 ECU is automatic or manual?

After identifying a ECU as from an automatic transmission car, it can be converted to a manual by adjusting the ECU's configuration jumpers (P28 Civic D16Z6 shown).

do i have to desolder the jumpers?, but i have a pm5 do they have the same jumper setup as the p28?

Well, i ran it with the AT ecu, and let it relearn all my cars settings, and it eventually brought my idle back down to 1k, and doesnt idle surge anymore, so now my real question is, is it really necessary to convery my auto ecu to 5speed?, im just not sure if there is any different fuel/air ratio , timing changes? idk, seems to be ok as it is now.

next question, have alot of valve ticking, and i dont think they are adjustable, anyone got an ideas?, and i need to find some ways to gain some power ...

also is it really practical to turbo a d15 1.5 dpfi?, cause i can convert my whole turbo setup from my dsm right onto my crx... in about a day.. not sure if its worth it though to do it on this motor with the dpfi?
