Default ebay ecu chip.

Has anyone ever heard of the mugen ecu chips they sell on ebay?
they sell spoon ones too.
it says it disables the knock sensor
and disables the Speed Governor
and says it will increase the amount of fuel injected into the engine under acceleration
and also modifies the timing curve to increase horsepower throughout the power band
and to expect 7-20 hp.

I think its a joke how about you?

Ya. I bought one of those. Using TurboEdit I examined the fuel & ignition maps. Turns out it was the stock maps from a PR4. On the dyno, it gave no noticeable performance gains over the stock PM6 maps. The real difference was the afr, which was in the 10 range [pig rich] and there was not fuel cutoff.

As a result, the fuel mileage sucked but I did use those maps as the basis for tuning the fuel & ignition parameters. Managed to extract about 11% more peak torque, a whole lot more torque under the curve and about 8% more peak hp after about 15 pulls on the dyno.

In the end, if you're simply going to plug and play, it ain't worth it.

In other words, don't waste your money. Save up and buy something nice.
