Default My 1994 Civic Hatch Full Tear Down & Rebuild (Pictures!)

Well I decided to bite the bullet and redo my 1994 Civic Hatch.

I actually photoshoped the rear quarter in that picture. I was rusted out lol. I love the way these cars look and I've always wanted one. But before this I only used it as a daily driver. I have this problem, when ever I get my hands on a car I want to turbo charge it, fix it up and make it fast as hell. So I thought I'd share my journey to bringin this 1994 Hatch back to it's day. Pictures speak louder than words.

Before I touched it.

And tear down begins.

Motor is out in no time and engine bay is cleaned.

The new heart! A face only mother could love.

Rust Inhibitor

Sound Deadening Stage (Added maybe 30lbs and makes it feel like a Lexus, and that's not me, it's my pops!)

Primed and Ready for paint!

They call me Mellow Yellow.... quite rightly

JE Turbo Pistons, TT Rods, new rings, bearing, ect.

Watch the transformation as the monster becomes a star.

T04E Baby!

She's got her shoes on.

I'll keep updating with more pictures as my project progresses. Feel free to comment! Here's what I had to buy because none of my cars have their motors in them, but I do have motors for them

Winter Beater!

My 1994 Mazda RX7.

Looks great, why didn't you paint the engine bay completely yellow?

Damn!! That RX-7 is smoking. I wish I had the equipment and skill to paint a car .

BTW is the yellow color from the RX-7 yellow. CYM (competition yellow meca) maybe?

Insane. I love this thread, keep us updated. I probably wouldn't have picked yellow, but that might just be me. Motor looks sick man.

So how long did all this take you so far?

Head gasket is on the wrong way. That metal tab sticking out by the timing belt should be on the opposite side under the vtec solenoid. If you look carefully it actually says UP on one side.

Sorry

Nice save. I couldn't ever commit to doing a build on a rusted car, it's just so much work.
Nice Koseis.

The engine compartment has sound deadening on the firewall. That's why it's not completely yellow. The colour is Velocity Yellow. It's used only on the 2008 Corvette ZO6's. I picked yellow because I haven't seen any yellow hatches in this area. I wanted to be the only one. I see alot of hatches built up but like the factory colours. This car didn't come in yellow from the factory The rims are Kosei K1's. I got them for my birthday so I can't complain lol. I'm fine with them anyways. Although they are a little big (17"). The RX7 is in the process of being built too. I'm saving up some cache so I can get the Garret GT500R turbo kit for it. I got it large street ported, racing seals, the works. It will easily make 500+WHP. The hatch will be my daily driver for a while. And Echo7847! Thanks for the info. My dad put the head on this thing and we compared it to the old head gasket and it is on backwards. The new head gasket didn't have an up marking on it. My dad is used to working on Chevy small blocks and stuff. Chevy small blocks it doesn't matter which way the head gasket is on lol. But yeah were pulling the head off right now and fixing that. These forums are very useful.

Well it's very obvious that you get a lot of financial backing from your parent(s), but this is the wrong forum to show that off.

I have no financial support from my parents what so ever. I'm the one financially supporting them. I just dished out $2,550 to help pay bills a couple weeks ago. I work full time and cars are my life. I manage my money very well. I don't see how this could be the wrong forum to show my build. I thought this thread was for anything Honda Civic/Del Sol 92-00 Related? heh. I assure you the yellow looks much better than the white. The original paint was fading and had lots of chips and scratches but no big dents. I see alot of white hatches in my area (Chicagoland) anyway.
