what makes the fourth gen special to you??
i catch alot of crap all the time for my old hatch so it made me wonder what makes them so special to everyone else?? i mean i love mine and would never get rid of it, i choose it over my 94 hatch and 95 coupe when ever i can!!! so what makes yours special??
Other then the fact it's all I can really afford, they have a special place in my heart.
First car I ever drove when I was 16 was a DOHC ZC swapped hatch. When I was 17, I bought my own 90 civic hatch. Your first car will always have a soft spot in your heart.
But I must admit, the old car thing is starting to **** me off. Too many old car problems.

one word, simplicity. no power windows, power locks, power steering, abs, or srs. no need for a scan tool, or overcomplicated diagnostics. great independent suspension, no multilink bullshit. even the body lines are simple, sexy but simple. so simple i've started, with the purchase of my rex about 2.5 years ago, to do all the work on my car. i just wish it was my first.
Ive had the rex since new. When I graduated High school....I bought it. I still love it.
I have the Millenia for the old man heated seats and all the electronic hooha....I have my rex for pure enjoyment and simplicity.

I have 4 cars.
2005 Evo8 MR
1997 Accord 4dr
1995 Civic 4dr
and
My baby 1990 Civic HB Si
When i was in high school I couldn't afford a car, I fell in love with the 88-91 body style and new I had to have one, I got mine for cheap and it has been taken away from me twice but I will never get rid of her.

Yes they are very sexy. And cheap! But my favorite thing about the ef is the way they respond to modification. They are so light weight that a single cam vtec will actually feel fast and thety also corner on rails.( I would never swap a single vtec tho lol)

They're reliable, built relatively well (WHY THE WATER DRAINING HONDA, WHY?) and fun as hell to drive.
They're easy to swap and there's a ton of knowledge available.
There's a relatively good part market, and great support available.
What's not to like besides the age?

Thats why its sometimes called the ground generation.
I love them mainly because of that, but the price helped allot too...And there hella fun to drive.

Personally I dis like all the new body styles coming out! They are just looking more and more like bubbles... yeah maybe it has to do with aerodynamics but they do not look good!!
I also like being able to fix problems with out dealership computers!

I chose to buy my 88 CRX si above all because they're small (little or no trouble to find parking for the critter), they're light, parts are abundant and inexpensive, and simply because of the body style

even if the stock motor's are wimpy, you do a motor swap, and the power to weight ratio increases significantly.
also agree with simplicity and the wealth of knowledge available.

Rarity, no "old car problems" <--just threw in a $400 sohc ZC longblock a few years ago and voila -- all problems solved, simplicity (as stated), and it's just plain fun to drive around

.
-the simplicity
-ease of use
-asthetically pleasing
-the kind of character you only find in "seasoned" cars
My 4g4d was my first car. It got stolen from me once and I try my dambdest to never let it happen again. It literally takes the place of a girlfriend in my life.

I just really enjoy driving them. being so easy to fix, makes me less worried about anything that might go wrong. that in turn, makes driving them more enjoyable. I don't care it if it breaks, I can fix it.
I have had over 30 cars already. Not all hondas. I buy them, drive them, get bored and sell them. or just buy them to sell them or part them out. I've had a supercharged SVT cobra, built eclipse gsx, and a couple of integras just to name a few, and I still liked the crx better.
Possibly also that when I drive it, it reminds me of when things in my life were simpler.
