Default A little help please on strut/shocks.

Okay, I'm working on the front suspension. Taken all the necessary bolts off. The stock struts and shocks are loose and is free from the fork mount.

The problem is that the top middle part of the shock seems like it not fit through the hole. (The one between the two 14mm bolts). Can someone help me. I've read some write up and they said is should just fall through, is that true? Is there anything I can do to make it come off easier, besides using a hammer and pounding it through.

Also while replacing them shoud I go ahead to buy the LCA bolts for the rear suspension or anything? Or I have a good chance of using them again? BTW I'm installing Koni/GC on the car. This is my first time doing something really major on it, compared to change oil.

Thanks in advance

Not really a good chance of using your stock LCAs due to seized bolts. I guess you can use them again if you get new bushings.

To remove the damper (shock) and spring assembly you should pull down and back... do you have a picture to show the part that is too big to fit through the upper hole? The easiest way I have done it is to keep the two 14mm upper bolts loosely screwed on, release the bottom of the damper from the fork, then loose the two upper bolts and it just drops down.

If your rear low control arm bolts are in good shape (not extremely rusted, no worn threads) you can reuse them. I recommend using anti seeze when installing all the suspension bolts.
