BLACK! Whats The Best Show Black Out There. I want POP
Its time to paint the car again. What is the best BLACK out there, has to be black. Im looking for a nice perfect black, I actually wouldnt mind a regular gloss black dont need pearl or the regular small metallic. But Id rather a metallic with alot of glitter look to it. Is there anything out there in the paint world today like that?
Loooking for paint codes!!! PICS!

NBP is a hot color but its so common. Sounds like you want a custom mixed color. You describe a pure black straight out of the can w/ a prizm flake top coat, sprayed as a tri-coat. Custom mixed colors are the way to go if you want something without a paint code. Dodge has a nice black they use on the chargers and magnums, black crystal pearcoat, it looks more like a metallic though.

What you should get is a really good clear. It will add the depth and pop that you are looking for. Black is black until you start adding metalics or pearls or other tints. Right out the can like was mentioned dupont has a 99 black that I think would fit your needs.

I think the black with the deepest shine/depth for me is solid black with nothing on it, no pearl, metal or mica, etc
bmw jetblack is one of the most commercially available deep black, you can get a ss or 2 stage off the color from any jobber.
I never done a SS before but alot of painters told me the deepest black comes from SS solid color

Well you guys are describing a straight black, like out of the can black thats it. Im good with that. Sonds like what I want
BUT I definetely want ALOT of metallic, that metallic flake you see on boats and such if thats possible. How do you descrbie that to a paint guy? Or technically say it anyways
Cheaper the better, I dont wanna be asking for gold leaf or anything here.
Thanks guys

Solid black will shade toward brown when a normal metallic toner is added. You want custom style flake added to the paint. Talk to painter thats familiar with mixing custom colors or a shop that mixes custom colors. One technique is to add it to the first coat of clear so its over the black base. There is all sorts of flake, prismatique type stuff available.

black is the shizznat but the car has to be a garage queen or if you have money to toss on repaints all the time...beause it will scratch, nick, chipped, dull , remember a scratch is easy to see far away, plus it shows every dirt marks or anything needs to be pmpered more often....
but if you insist get a black color from mercedes mclaren scratch resistant paint hella expensive but worth it....
