Most chips suck because there is no tuneability. I just bought a hondata s300 installed in a obd2 socketed ecu.

hmm

i guess i should give some details of what i want to install.

I may get a different head.. eithere a f22a or h22a for a DSM manifold

then run a DSM manifold and turbo, probably stock size, with 310cc injectors. However im not 100% if this is the way i want to go, but i can only put down about 200 whp due to the auto tranny limits.

auto and OBD2...not a lot of options. Emanage maybe or AFC hack...or just rock an FMU and check valves

No you didnt...you bought an OBD1 ECU with OBD2 plugs on it.

if you must stay obd2, and i would never ever recommend this, but VAFC or FMU.

It's misleading to folks who don't know any better.

well i wouldn't mind a base map tune, i just don't wanna explode lol. But yeah, in CT now if your car is obd2 and you go back to obd1 they will not let you register it.. so i was also thinking that since its every 2 years, i guess i could swap it out for the stock one but then wouldn't i run into emission problems not to mention the risk of blowing something up while its untuned and running wild.

I mean this is basically a for fun setup, i have the dsm manifold and turbo with a wastegate, intercooling and piping, bov, injectors so i guess i'd jsut need the downpipe and fuel managment.

We have the same thing in NC. I used to just swap out my chipped ECU for my stock ECU/injectors at inspection time. If I did another OBD2 car (which I probably won't), then I'd try an AEM FIC. It's a piggyback, but it looks pretty decent.

We have an FIC sitting in the showroom right now. Does look decent compared to the other **** out there I suppose. Haven't actually installed or used one yet but anything is better than an FMU I guess.

Well Emanage and Emanage Ultimate looked better than the other **** out there when it came out, and if you've ever dealt with one you know that they suck (compared to a re-mappable factory ECU or standalone). You can polish a piece of ****, chrome plate it, dip it in platinum, whatever. In the end, it's still a piece of **** piggyback. Keep in mind, I'm speaking in reference to using a piggyback to run a turbocharged engine on top of a factory NA ECU.

Not to thread-jack, but I'm in the same boat.

The FIC doesn't have an application for my car, so how will I tune it? Just put the stock stuff back in for testing?

I'm in NC as well.

2000 Si, OBD2b. It's a B16, but will be a Poorman's R on boost.

yeah i think i will have to use one of those.. which would be the better one to use.

i plan on doing a head swap.. either h22 or the accord ex head, and the ex ecu, and running a DSM turbo probably a 14b or sometihng..

It should work fine for that, they just don't have a pre-fabbed wiring harness for it, so you'd have to wire it up using the ECU pinout guide from your Helms manual.

It comes with a 24" harness, you just have to splice it in.
