hi im putting a sony cd player in to my civic and i wanted to know which wires match up from the sony harnes to the honda harnes i cut the honda harnes clip so i have to wire it up any body know the sony to honda wires???

 

why didn't you buy a harness, cuttin the wires is ghetto.

 

yeah..buy an adaptor harness. if you ever wanna take out that radio you'll be all botched up. at least with a harness you can go back to stock if you ever want to. plus it makes for a cleaner install.

 

I KNOW THIS i fucked up and i need t know the sony to honda wire code any one know i cant buy a harness now

 

check them out one by one. look at the color wires on each speaker...that's the color it'll be in the harness. power is easy to find (it'll spark and then you'll blow a fuse..haha)..and ground, well, errr if you can't do that then don't even try to hook up a radio. it's called trial and error my friend, and it works. i've done this several times with great success. you can locate all the wires and have everything hooked up in under 10 min if you're not a moron

 

Buy a harness and use that to figure out what wires go where, then return it.

 

luckily i work in a stereo shop so here you go

front left speaker-blue/green&gray/black go to white&white/black
front right speaker-red/green&brown/black go to gray&gray/black
rear left speaker-blue/yellow&gray/white go to green&green/black
rear rightspeaker-red/yellow&brown/white go to purple&purple/black
12 volts-white with colored stripe(usually yellow or blue stripe) goes to yellow
ground- black goes to black
switched- yellow/red goes to red(test this wire with a volt meter i can't remember but i'm pretty sure this is it though)

what about the white from the sony harness and the illumination for the face to light up isnt that red wit black stripe on honda harness??

 

white is the front left speaker and the red/black striped wire in your honda is the illumination wire goes to the orange/white striped wire on the sony harness
